En 1958, Bob Bogle y Don Wilson, formó el núcleo del grupo de música original, Las Venturas. Al dúo se unió unos años después Nokie Edwards para grabar “camina, no corras”. La canción dio el exito Individual de Cartelera el 18 de julio de 1960 y pipeline a las #2. Las ventas eran prolíficas durante los 60 conciertos y los mas de 37 álbumes magnetofónicos.
Desde ese principio espectacular, al grupo the Ventures se unió Mel Taylor, Gerry McGee, Léon Taylor y Bob Spalding seguido para ayudar definir una rama a menudo pasada por alto de Instrumental a música rock. Las ventas se acreditan por muchas leyendas de la guitarra contemporánea de ser una influencia en ellos. Su estilo y la música es ciertamente única.

Nació en la ciudad de México el 5 de diciembre de 1905 y murió en un accidente automovilístico en 1963. Su debut musical ocurrió en 1924 al presentarse con su orquesta en el Teatro Palma de Tampico, Tamaulipas. Más tarde se dedicó a viajar por los países latinoamericanos y Estados Unidos, llegando su orquesta a ser una de las más populares de su tiempo. Es autor de más de 200 canciones y de la música de más de 24 películas.
Un gran compositor mexicano que se conoce poco de él, este disco es muy bueno.
